«Around the hole everything is edge» ‒ A mysterious title for a powerful performance. The works of the Brazilian dancer and choreographer Marcela Levi are at the cutting edge of contemporary dance and visual arts. She is interested in the gaps, the invisible, the unnamed; experiences that may emerge when we attempt to communicate with the void. Her latest, award-winning creation is a tale that arises from short manifestations of autonomous yet powerful fragments. Marcela Levi and her stage partner Flavia Meireles use their bodies, music, scraps of paper and 200 carrots to tell stories about violence, war and death. Powerful, poetic and not without humour.
